Quality assurance within the awarding of micro credentials for learners in VET is a considerable and crucial challenge. VET providers are asked to find credible and trustful ways of ensuring the quality of the offered micro credential based on some general and widely accepted quality standards. Within the MC GREEN project the worldwide standard of ISO17024 personnel certification will be applied as a model or method for quality assurance of micro credentials. This approach as many advantages, most important with ISO1724 a standardised model for quality assurance in certification processes is applied which is valid and accepted worldwide. The ISO17024 standard, however, requires the application of a number of obligatory criteria and does not tolerate any exemption. This is why VET organisations need to learn about the core requirements of the ISO17024 standard norm if they want to make use of its potential as one of the most powerful and trusted quality assurance models for micro credentials.
