About the project

The MC GREEN project focuses on developing and applying the globally recognised quality assurance model ISO 17024 for awarding micro-credentials in vocational education and training (VET) across Europe. The project addresses the need for credible, transparent, and transferable micro-credentials, supporting the growing demand for skills in the green economy.

Objectives

Analysis of the requirements of ISO 17024 and the current state of micro-credentials in European VET.

Developing a convergence strategy for applying ISO 17024 to micro-credentials.

Designing and implementing innovative micro-credentials in the green economy.

Strengthening the recognition and trust of micro-credentials at a European level.

Implementations & Results

The project bases its work on an in-depth research on ISO 17024 standards and the micro-credential landscape in European VET. Starting from this, a convergence strategy is developed to guide the application of ISO 17024 for micro-credential quality assurance.

Two specific micro-credentials are developed and tested. Both are accompanied by testing, certification procedures, examiner training, and a full application of ISO 17024 principles.
